What is the impact on cars in Japan? Are they being recalled as well? If so, which brands and how many? It would be nice to know. I assume Takata supplied the airbags to local cars as well.

What is the impact on cars in Japan? It is a Japanese INC, in Japan there is never any immediate danger for the public health from any Japanese INC.

Shortly after the crash, the company declared 5.4 million more inflators defective.

Wondering where all those of defective inflators are ending. I believe probably shipped to a country with laws not so much strict to consumer safety protection.

Manager's response was sort of like the Challenger explosion response. We have an anomaly. Mission aborted.

My wife had her car recalled to change the airbag. She owns a Honda. In Japan they are trying hard to do low profile on the matter. When she was contacted to take an appointment, they did not say for what exactly problem they wanted her to bring the car for. They only mentioned a technical problem. Once she went there, they would not mention exactly the problem only to refer to an airbag issue. She then insisted to know whether this was related to the Takata airbag inflators and they finally admitted. She then asked why she was not told that her car was recalled for this problem, those clowns responded that they did not want to worry her.

She then asked if this problem was widespread with Honda cars, they admitted that it was a massive recall of cars.....

In Japan they are trying hard to do low profile on the matter.

The Japanese are indifferent in what's going on in US.

Why hasn't this company been fined or legislated out of existence?! If they could weather this storm for so long, then they obviously had enough capital to produce a better product than they did. Enough is enough.

Then first write correct or more clear english since you wrote by yourself that Japanese are "indifferent in what's going on in US". Which again is a useless statement. What is even suppose to mean?

Second yes, they are trying to do low profile as my wife has herself experienced and also by the low coverage by the Japanese media on what is a gigantic scandal involving again a Japanese company. So yes indeed I am reporting here real and experienced facts. On the contrary, you come here to just blindly defend anything said against Japan with a really poor argumentation.
