19-yr-old man arrested for beating girlfriend's 2-yr-old son to death

Police in Kitakyushu said Saturday they have arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly beating a 2-year-old boy to death.

According to police, the man assaulted Kiyora Ikeda, his girlfriend's son, at her apartment on March 7 at around midnight, while the boy's mother was at work, TBS reported.

An autopsy revealed that the child had sustained ruptured internal organs.

Police say the suspect, who cannot be named because he is a minor, has so far denied the charges. During police questioning, the accused told investigators he hit the boy in the head to discipline him but added he did not punch him in the stomach, TBS reported.

Another victim of family breakdown. Where was his natural father?

Where was his natural father?

Quite possibly never a part of his son's life- not an unusual scenario, is it?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

19 years old, that's a minor right?

This is getting abit crazy, i saw an article like this 2 days ago. I thought it was the same story. Where are these jerks coming from.

These remarks do my head in... My brother has two children that are not his own, his a great father and has made a life with their mother. THe family is a unit of six so take your guess to what that means and dont gudge all men who are in relationships who are not the real fathers!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Oh man, that kind of story is so familiar. How many such jerks are out there, and when will young mothers learn not to trust any new boyfriend until they really know them.

" he hit the boy in the head to discipline him but added he did not punch him in the stomach "

Oh sure, that makes everything OK then. Hitting a 2-year old in the head???? His charges should be doubled on that.

what a horrible painful way to die.... someone beating you until your organs rupture and you internally bleed to death..

The pain and horror that this child suffered before he died is an abomination and the most inhumane of all killings. It's not an adult human being or an animal... It's a young child! a baby!!

That said, this is Japan where children are considered property under Japanese law. The killer will never taste real justice. The victim had his future stolen from him. The mother is to blamed for choosing such a pathetic animal to be with.

And now the question is.... where is the little boy's NATURAL FATHER?!

4 ( +5 / -2 )

He is a minor with adult responsibilities. Charge him as an adult.

Another day in Japan, another innocent child killed by those who are supposed to love and protect him.

Where is his birth father?! Probably not allowed to see his kid. A fine example how why mothers are not always the better parent! How old is the mom?! Probably still a child herself.

The whole "natural" father thing is rather unfair. I was raised by a stepfather who did his best and is a loving, kind and amazing man. The amount if crap I put him through (you're not my dad) makes me ashamed now. Just because they aren't blood parents doesn't make them monsters. Blood or not, some people should never be allowed to be in a parenting role. This man - and I'll go as far as the mother too - are fine examples of people who shouldn't have kids.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Rest in Peace to the poor little boy.

May the child killer maggot endure a life of torture and misery. I really just hope everyone he comes across in prison know exactly what he did before he arrives. BTW - shame on Japan for considering people under 20 "minors". This trash is old enough to torture and kill and should be named and hopefully tried as an adult.

reading this makes my blood boil.Children are so precious, they accept everyone as friends they dont judge ,they are so innocent and pure. For example a dog is a mans best friend they will love you and protect you and be loyal till the end, they will give you unconditional love.Children are the same way. This punk who killed this precious boy,let me have 5 minutes in a room with him.

what a coincidence the other day an acquaintance t old me she saw a jn man kick his small kid near the train station as his woman looked on...then kid then burst out crying reportedly ....just terrible....and insane!

Didn't I just read this article the other day? Or is it that, once again, this becoming a five times a week story. As for punishment, the guy will get next to nothing -- a few months in a reformatory at best, and at worst he'll get zip if he looks remorseful. No surprise here.

Its a sick world we live in. Unfortunately, we all lose our temper at some point in time, nothing could have prevented this act. We have the death penalty here, which is very fortunate, and can only hope this vile man will burn in hell. This will be about the only positive news coming from this sad story.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

The man deserves to be charged with capital murder and only sentence should be the death penalty. First he must be certified to stand trial as an adult, fine let justice serve it's course.

Are you joking? I have had 2-year olds, and yes they can drive you nuts occasionally. But when I "lose my temper" in that case, I go outside and let go with a primordeal scream, scaring the neighbours. Punching a 2-year old is something that would never cross my mind, or the mind of any human worth the name. Pick up a 2 year old sometime. They are so fragile, You are like Godzilla in comparison.

The very concept of "disciplining" a 2-year old by punching them in the stomach and in the head is absurd.

Hang him.

19 years old is not a child it is a man, charge him as such, child murderers should be given the death penalty, no other sentence is suitable.

Too often the step father kills some girls child, mostly because the jerk is jealous of the childs father and they see the child as representing the farther, the girls former lover.

They are weak and imature and cant deal with the fact its some one else's kid, so they kill it by taking out their anger/jealousy on it.

HANG EM !

If you're old enough to make babies yourself, then you are old enough to know better. Stop protecting these spineless wimps just because of their age....

Been there. Done that!

Poor little kid. I'd love to repay this idiot teenager in kind.

Not all boyfriends are bad but, my goodness, how many articles have we read where the boyfriends seriously injure or kill their girlfriend's child? These woman need to think really hard about who they choose to be with and who to choose as a babysitter.

I used to labour under the impression that Japan is violence free. Especially the sort of idiotic violence I seem to be reading on this site!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The poor kid. This 19 year old guy must have been a very spoiled and very selfish bully to do what he did. The same thing happened a couple of weeks ago too. Things that 30 years ago would have been unthinkable here unfortunately are becoming all too common. Japan needs to look at what has changed in the last 30 years and try to figure out how to adapt to it.

Another victim of family breakdown. Where was his natural father?

First off, it is what it is. This was not a family. This was a girl who had a baby with another man and still wanted to satisfy her own physical and emotional needs by finding a new man.

You ask "Where was his natural father?" Exactly where Japan's family court system wanted him to be.....not in the picture.

Japan's family court system set this up. It sets the scene for these tragedies.

You see, there needs to be joint custody and visitation rights. Perhaps the biological father wants to see his offspring. He should not be treated as a donor according to Japanese family court laws.

IF the child had been with the father that night then maybe her new boyfriend would not have killed the child BY accident if that's what in fact happened. Again, the producer should be at fault and not the actors when someone dies on the set.

a 19 youngster, "NOT MAN" as labeled here, being protected as a minor...uses the poor little soul as a punching bag - beating him senselessly. Well - heck, that explains it.

Japan is the safest society I can think of. But nothing is absolute. As this and similar articles show, they have their share of subhuman scum.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

all of u who keep saying about natural father, court system etc etc. has it occoured to you that those natural fathers are not interested in or fit to be fathers?!?! most of j fathers who are married are tooo busy to be fathers anyway (including NA) family day is one day, Sunday! pathetic.

We don't know anything about the biological father and why he isn't on the scene. We don't know much about the mother either though we can speculate, and probably be right. But who knows - she wouldn't be the first woman to be a bad judge of men.

All we are 100% sure of is that yet another man has punched a toddler. And killed him. As a male, actually as a human, I can't understand it at all. This will probably sound inhumane and vindictive, but I think they need to bring back the chain gang system and get people like him on it doing the most dangerous work at the Fukushima plant.

Being 19 is not an excuse as even most 7 yr old boys know it's wrong to punch a 2 yr old.
