Either a cop or teacher I'll bet.

"I was drunk, I don't remember anything" will be his defense if or when caught.

Am I missing something here? I'm scratching my head wondering what it is about this particular incident that made the news.

These sorts of groping incidents happen dozens if not hundreds of times on any given Friday night in Japan. If you've lived here long enough you've probably witnessed several yourself. Puzzling.

How would that be a defense?

I say find the bloke and use chemicals to disempower his member from this day on.

Because all policemen and teachers are sexual predators, right? Couldn't be an unemployed man with no fixed address, or a computer engineer, or a college student, or a doctor, or a train conductor or a ...

Ok ive never been there but what is it with Saitama, is it really that bad as it always pops up in the news. I mean no offense people just looking for a answer.

is it really that bad as it always pops up in the news.

No, it's not. It just happens to pop up in the news lots. But it's not in the top crime prefectures in the country.

This is a perfect example of how equating the number of articles one reads in the news on a given subject or place is not a logical way to determine how bad that place actually is. News articles do not make the effort to make sure that the number of articles presented is equivalent to the ranking or actual numbers behind it. News articles simply present whichever news they feel like, under whatever requirements they have.

Witnessed and been victims.

How would that be a defense?

It's Japan, need you really ask?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Well yeah. It won't get him off any charges so I don't understand how it could be construed as a defence. Care to explain?

I am glad that the lady shouted and reported it, its a shame she didn't kick him hard!!

Japan is not the only country in the world to have sex deviates. The are like rats and cockroaches ---everywhere!

Bizarre. Why is this even news? Thousands of women get sexually molested on trains in Tokyo on a daily basis - any reason this incident is special?!

Police man should dress in woman and catch the pervert.

"Police man should dress in woman and catch the pervert"

These days they have things called POLICEWOMEN and yes, they can go UNDERCOVER, and yes, they could arrest perverts on the spot, and yes, that would let the perverts know that the police are taking SEX CRIME seriously.

Life really is that easy!!

I think so too.. they need a lady police undercover so that they could arrest the perverts on the spot.

You need men to protect you from men...and so it goes.

Ever since I've been hearing about groping, I've been teaching my kids (all girls) to defend themselves and keep attacking even if the groper says, "Gommen ne!" or "Shitsurei"

Am I missing something here? I'm scratching my head wondering what it is about this particular incident that made the news.

It's a crime, two women, same place, serial groper... that's newsworthy as far as I'm concerned. Could be posters' friends, daughters, wives, lovers who are next. Then would you say it's not newsworthy? It's sexual assault and needs to be stopped... now!

Please have more respect for victims.

I'm confused by this comment. Who is not respecting the victims?

Japan has a long way to go when it comes to protecting women
