4 cars torched in Fukuoka condo parking lot

11 Comments

Four cars were torched in the parking lot of a condominium in Fukuoka's Higashi Ward early Monday morning.

Police said the cars were seen burning at around 2 a.m. TBS reported that it took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the fires. No one was injured.

Police said this was the second time an arsonist had torched cars in the parking lot. On Jan 9, two cars were set alight.

Yakuza? More likely to be kid punks or an ex-resident

Dis,

Yeah but in Kyushu its likely yakuza, they make a racket down that way

GW, I get a little tired of people who have never even been here calling Kyushu/Fukuoka a yakuza haven. Fukuoka's a great city, and I see as many (or more) Yakuza in Kansai and Kanto. Burning cars could be yakuza, but Fukuoka city doesn't make that any more or less likely.

@commanteer

Fukuoka itself isn't especially Yakuza-infested, but get out to Iizuka or Kurume and there's definitely a problem. I think that's where the bad reputation comes from....

lucabrasi, that's true. But the same is true of smaller cities elsewhere in the country. The problem here is that it all gets reported as Fukuoka. At least this case actually was in Fukuoka City, and I'd give it a 50/50 chance of being yakuza, only because this would be the sort of thing they do. It could also be some guy with a grudge, or a lone goofball who likes to see things burn.

its high time the govt gets outta bed with the yakuza

commanteer,

Haha, you slag me for making a little prediction & then post again saying its a 50:50 yakuza thing LOL!

GW, it wasn't your prediction I slammed, but the faulty (and disparaging) way you arrived at it.

Nothing faulty at all there, simply based on the past, simple as that & btw been down FUK plenty of times, like it there,dont worry FUK doesnt get slagged near as much as say Saitama
