Police in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Monday arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 57-year-old father at their home.
According to police, the suspect, Ryota Masuda, beat his father Keisuke several times on the head with a metal bat at around 3:30 a.m. Monday and then called police. Sankei Shimbun reported that police found Masuda's father lying face down in the living room, bleeding from head injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Masuda, who lives in the house with his parents, has admitted to hitting his father with the bat. His mother was away from home at the time of the attack.
