Police said Sunday they have arrested a 51-year-old man for strangling his 83-year-old mother to death at their home in Fuji, Shizuoka.
According to police, they received a call at around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night from Ikuo Naito saying that he had killed his mother. TBS reported that police rushed to the scene and found the elderly woman, Muneko Naito, dead in her bedroom. There were strangulation marks around her neck and she had also been beaten about the head, police said.
Police said the son, who is unemployed, has so far given no motive. The two lived alone.

I would never let my adult children live with me. Its a ridiculous culture that invites stress to both parties. Its really sad that people are strangling and killing the elderly.

He may have been caring for her and the stress got to be too much. Matte mimashou.

He's 51, unemployed, and lives with his 83-year-old mom. Her pension wasn't enough to support them both. Maybe she was on his case to get a job, any job.

A morphine drip is much more humane, I wouldn't be able to kill someone with my bare hands, looking directly in the eyes, seeing the life slowly fade away as her body stops struggling. This guy obviously had no trouble with that.
