He's like a little child that doesn't like being told the rules. I have met some over 50s with bad attitudes and think they know better than anyone younger than them, especially if they are 20 somethings.

Do you know what's worse in these cases in this country? If I was there I wouldn't control the urge to teach the guy a very good lesson, only to bring problems to myself, sometimes the justice system in Japan fails in terms of common-sense, creates an apathetic, coward nation, "根性無しの日本人”. No wonder everybody just stood watching, frozen.

A lot of questionable characters hanging out at Don Quijote late at night. Last week I dropped in after midnight and saw a dyed yellow hair family. The newborn baby had yellow hair too.

God, I hope Japan doesn't go like the US and start allowing pets everywhere, especially in the guise of "service animals". I'd much prefer well behaved dogs to some of the kids I see in shops. Many home centres allow dogs these days as they have grooming areas in. Or perhaps its because they don't want dogs left in cars or tied up outside. Either way, I'm a supporter. Even without my dogs, I'll visit dogs cafes. Fewer kids running around screaming and most dogs are pretty well behaved.

No objection to seeing eye dogs, but others? Like you said, leave them at home.

It's a sad new trend in the US that people can get bogus certificates and letters from therapists to designate their pets as "emotional support animals", then take them wherever they want. HUGE difference between a trained animal and a pet with a selfish owner.

Dogs are well known to reduce stress and create relaxing environments - if trained properly. Sadly not all are. People also suffer from allergies. I certainly don't condone violence of any sort and this guy is a jerk, but I don't see why dogs are banned in many places while small children are allowed to run feral. Many places in Europe have it right. Dogs are welcome in pubs and restaurants if they are UNDER the table. Indeed the store in question is sly but birth America and Japan are very uptight about dogs. And frankly, both treat dogs (and cats) questionably when it comes to animal welfare.

In USA, houseowners can't leave dogs outside of fence. Correcting Attila.dogs attack cats and people on sidewalks... also, no stores allow pets inside. Unlike zjapan, cops are trained to kill people. .

If the dog was small dog and then shop should allow owner to carry the dog when they owner was shopping. Some peoples treat dog as their own child. Some owners can't leave their dog outside because they worry about stolen their dog by someone. In France, the shop allows small dog carry by owner when owner was shopping in their store.

Better to have a cat-no problem with shopping at all!

Best check your reading skills, the point was "people with dogs" are similar to "people who smoke". Your false straw man correlation of "dogs cause cancer" demonstrates your irrationality. Dogs should be not be permitted in any of the places you mention as you are discriminating against other animals....what about pet snakes, gerbils, horses, cats, etc. Don't they have rights, or does your selective reasoning divide up the animals to some are more equal than others...how Orwellian!

Both I and my daughter have been bitten by dogs, on separate occasions. In the case of my daughter, the dog was even on a leash.

On the other hand, neither of us has ever been bitten by a child, feral or not.
