Police have arrested an NHK employee for allegedly using a hidden camera in his shoe to record lewd footage of unsuspecting women, the Tokyo Police Department said Monday.
According to a report on TV Asahi, Daisuke Hayashi, 33, was caught at a Tamachi clothing store, using the camera to take footage up the skirt of a female store clerk. The small camera was tied into Hayashi's shoelaces.
Police were quoted as saying that Hayashi has admitted to using the device in a similar manner before. He said the activity was a form of stress relief for him.

Can I use this as an excuse to stop paying NHK fees?
Sherman
This guy must have known he was stepping into trouble.
Gurukun
Stress relief?
Leopalacesux
Bad headline. He was arrested for taking secret photos, not lewd photos. Taking lewd photos is legal, fine, and dandy. In fact, lewd is just a plain vile word that should be expunged from parlance.

Oh what would we do without our morning giggle from JT.

Shoe camera. Some words should not have been invented; still, it is evocative of Think Smart, eh?
Laguna
Wait - that was Get Smart! Geez, I'm getting old.

another jp shoe camera man arrested and makes the jp crime news
bentheredonthat
would this be news if he didn't work at NHK? great journalism here. puh-lease.
Elbuda Mexicano
I bet you all that NHK will not be covering this news! You notice that it was TV Asahi covering this news, not NHK covering one of their own, right??
nath
How did he get caught? Flash?
CrazyJoe
Holy ****! This guy actually hid the camera in his shoelace on his right shoe. It's disgusting to think that the NHK subscription fees are paid for the salaries for guys like him. He said the activity was a form of stress relief for him* He's just a hentai (pervert).
ihavegreatlegs
Have not been on here much of late, but nice to see people still being funny. Flash? That would put the icing on the cake.
Asagao
Apparently it was the zoom lens that gave it away.
cactusJack
What a heel.

@Japangal
Maybe the big polaroid camera on his foot gave him away

Maybe the big polaroid camera on his foot gave him away.
No it was the puzzzzzaaa sound the big polaroid camera made as the snapshot came out that gave him away. Should have used silent film.
johninnaha
If he carries on like this, maybe NHK will give him the boot!
edojin
To rephrase "johninnaha's" comment above ... If he carries on like this ... maybe NHK will have enough film for a reality special on voyeurism.
nath
You guys are funny.
sillygirl
stress relief? try tai chi, yoga, ciggies...anything but upskirt picks.
Serrano
How did he get caught? Camera too big?
Fadamor
The camera was noticed because his feet are too small (and this also explains why he can't find and keep a woman of his own to take pictures of). You know what "they" say... big feet, big ----

You guys are funny.
He was caught because he was seen waving the Polaroid picture and counting, one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, too loud.

Just another day in paradise. Carry on!

Japanese stress relief exercises are very good...... lol :)
Jared Norman
he should consider viagra.
Ben_Jackinoff
I get the feeling he has the opposite problem.
Piltdown Man
The guy must have watched a few too many Pee Wee Herman movies. Yet another news story of pathetic juvenile antics gone awry.
Badge213
More reason not to answer the door when the NHK man comes.

@Badge213
You sir are the winner. Contest over folks!

Great story, such comments folks- though you have no sole. Sorry, had to join in! Some years ago my friend's son's juku teacher got done for the same thing (escalator version) - her reaction was "We trusted him with our children!"
