"You'd have to be blind not to see a 2t pile of snow in front of you"

Come on! You know how hard it is to see a 2t pile of snow in front of you, while your texting?

@Crazedinjapan ever been in a snowstorm? or just during winter in tohuko? everything is white so a pile of snow is easy to miss.

And yet it is apparently perfectly legal to simply push the snow onto the road with resulting mounds of snow reaching over two or three meters in height and changing streets into one lane canyons. He shouldn't have done that but it hardly makes any difference to the streets of Sapporo, they are under tons of snow anyway.

Surely the evidence will have melted by the time this gets to court.

@AKBfan that is funny, try to keep 2t of snow in a evidence locker! ( maybe they should use a bath tub :-). And just to add to the laughter he is charged dumping snow he is trying to remove ? There probably was no place to put it anywhere else!

It's pretty infuriating to think just how much money is spent on snow clearance during the winters up here (this one's been obscenely long and snowy), and it goes to waste on 'workers' like this guy.

@Dbauer. Growing up and living with snow for 30+ years.... ya I'd notice a 2 ton mountain of snow in front of me...only in a whiteout would you miss that.

"only in a whiteout would you miss that."

Exactly. In a whiteout, or a snowstorn, you could easily miss it. But more likely, it's a hazard, as people suddenly need to move around it, in a street already narrowed by snow banks on either side. That pile of snow would close at least one, and quite likely 2 lanes.

Sorry, but how is bunch of snow... IN SAPPORO!! out of all places, a hazard

It narrows the effective road width and decreases the road surface friction coefficient.
