Luxury wristwatches worth approximately 2.85 million yen have been stolen from a Don Quijote store in Yokohama, police said Tuesday.

According to police, the theft occurred just after 12 noon on the fourth floor of the Don Quijote Isezakicho store located in Naka Ward. Fuji TV reported that a man pretending to be a customer took out an object resembling a gun from his bag and threatened a female employee, ordering her to open the case with the watches. The thief then made off with two Rolex wristwatches, worth roughly 2.85 million yen.

No employees or customers were injured, police said.

The man is said to be about 175 cm tall, and was wearing dark clothes and a white face mask.

Donki has everything. Poor girl. Maybe it was the repetitive DQ jingle that drove him crazy.

Although it boggles the mind that all criminals don't do this in Japan, wearing a white face mask makes this man a relative genius.

Besides his height, this is an accurate description of 95% of all robbers in Japan.

customer took out an object resembling a gun

That's funny, because besides luxury items, Don Quijote also sells air soft replica guns that are very realistic

Rolex? The last time I was in Donki I saw a man emerge from the pink noren carrying a power tool for what looked like his wife.

Thinking about it, they DO sell everything!

Rolexes have serial numbers that are registered to the owner. If he tries selling them, he's gonna get caught.

If I ever spend a one million yen plus on a watch, I don't think I'd want to walk past a big pile of reduced-to-clear Halloween items, pumpkin-flavoured Kitkats etc, on the way into the shop.

The entrance to my local donki also has a kebab shop, but I guess that's just Nagano and not corporate policy.
