I see Adele was using her usual gutter-language in order to get a reaction from the audience.

She`s only human after all. I really liked her performance.

I go to a cafe in San Francisco because it's close, friendly, warm when it's cold, and inexpensive. But five days out of the week, the boss plays KOIT, and that station plays exactly the same songs every single day. Which means that "Hello" song by Adele is shoved down our throats over and over and over, and of course the other stuff is more like vocal gymnastics than music. Music for seven year old kids to jump around to. What a burn out. A mean price to pay for a guy who listens to Waits, jazz, Brazilian, Dizian and Kamien, David Sylvian, and soundtracks. There are good things about the cemetery....

The Grammy's are the antithesis of art. Rather pathetic giving all these awards to Bowie now. They completely ignored him while he was alive.

Whatever her (Adele) language, she got hers ! ! !

I feel with you there, public places playing the same song over and over and over, until we start hating what was originally a very good piece. You would probably like Adele's work, based on your preferences.

I must agree with DH's comment about "vocal gymnastics". I blame all those talent shows on tv, but somewhere along the line, "big singing" has become the be all and end all of vocals. For women, I guess the trend was kind of set by Whitney Houston and then hammered home by Mariah Carey. Note that Whitney Houston herself was manufactured as an artist to sell MOR soul to (white) yuppies. Her family links were mainly dished up for authenticity purposes, not as blueprints for soul music.

I had Prince on earlier now he's on Spotify, and I decided to look up the Joni Mitchell song "Help Me" today which gets a mention in one of his best songs, "The Ballad of Dorothy". JM's song is from a great 1974 album I'm gutted I've never heard before. Despite her remarkable intonation and fantastic songwriting, I doubt Joni Mitchell would get very far today. The same goes for Leonard Cohen (RIP).

I think Adele was very upset because she also had an issue at last year's performance and this tribute was obviously very important to her. No one could do George Michael justice but it wasn't meant to be a crowd pleaser. She slowed down Fastlove's feel good grooves and turned it into a string ballad to show us true meaning of this song. It really sinks in and the lyrics make perfect sense... a brilliant choice! Bless her.

I believe last year I said predicted Adele would win this even though it was her worst album and had a lack of hits. At least she writes her own albums. I can't say that much for Beyonce though she has strong vocals and can sing/dance well simultaneously.

Drake again wins best rap song on a song he sings entirely. Another sign that hip hop is a dying art. Someone please get me in a time machine to the mid-90s.

Carlos Santana's comments on both Adele and Beyonce are interesting. Another statement was done via fashion by Joy Villa.
