He can teach all men how to look fashionable, sensual, attractive and appealing to women. This is a man whom I can call a dream man with more than 100% conviction. I love his strong and yet tender features and fashionable style. I love Ken Watanabe too and I find him very attractive and talented actor but Hiroyuki is as charismatic as Ken. Now I have two very favourite actors and Lost could become my favourite drama. Hiroyuki is one of the not so many actors who looks really manly and has nice hairstyle and beard.

Sanada is a very good choice, but I think I can wait until it's aired free on channel 6, which is going to be years from now. Maybe even a decade. I'm watching season 3 now...

Hurray for a true Japanese period actor! He's been famous in Japan for samurai films even before the Last Samurai. Now, maybe people in the US and other broadcasting countries can appreciate his qualities too.

I never watched Lost, but i might have to check it out now.

Lost got slow, ridiculous, then okay and worth the watch, then all of a sudden got ridiculous again to make me abort watching it. The concept was good but it failed to deliver...jumped the shark if you ask me on many occasions. Maybe the final season will be better. Normally, final seasons are never as good.

OH! Have to make a commit about Hiroyuki here. Yes, he's handsome but I bet he has several defects. No one is perfect and if you don't think it's on the outside it maybe on the inside.

In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to his work in Lost. I too saw him in Twilight Samurai and he was a very capable actor in that film. Contrary to some here, I'm still a fan of Lost, even if I don't always like the direction the story goes. Sanada's contribution to the show will be just another plus.

he has a little wild look that is so appealing but also an intelligent spark in the eyes. being a recognized actor with talent and impact makes him far more desireble and not the least he speaks perfect English and has good disposition to foreigners.

Hey gang, 49 isn't exactly one foot in the grave. Yes, he looks healthy and vibrant, but it's not that much of a stretch to achieve that at 49 in this day and age. On the contrary, I'd be more inclined to think that anyone who didn't look like Sanada at 49 wasn't taking very good care of him or herself, or had a lousy diet. Forty-nine is the new 39, don't'cha know?
