Nice. Although I think Team America has probabaly been the definitive take on how far Supermarionation can go.

It will apparently be CGI characters and physical models of craft and sets.

I just hope it's better than Jonathan Frakes' car crash of a remake.

But will Virgil finally emerge from the closet? The world waits....

Live actors... so..... will Matt Damon do it?

They'll ruin it with the high-tech CG stuff. Just make another one with the marionettes.

They oughta do a decent remake of Lost in Space, Time Tunnel and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea too.

What ever happened to the Weta production of Neon Genesis Evangelion? Can we see that first please? And anyway, there's already been a live action remake, in 2004, directed by Jonathan Frakes. Bill Paxton, Anthony Edwards, Ben Kingsley even! Gerry & Sylvia Anderson were involved, but it was almost entirely forgettable... very much kids stuff, but difficult to argue with how cool the CGI ships were. Laughably, it was set in 2010!

The "Carrier" (Thunderbird 2?) was the interesting one for me. They had all sorts of rescue vehicles in there! The one that kept making me laugh was the drilling vehicle. I remember thinking later, "A huge drill with no torque compensation and rocket-assisted thrust. Once the drill bit deeply enough, the rest of the vehicle would be turned instead of the drill bit." When we were kids, though, that stuff was COOL.

The Frakes film had no involvement from Gerry Anderson. Gerry refused to take part, since it bore no relation to the series he created. It was more like Joe 90 meets Spy Kids and sponsored by Ford. It was utter dreck! I actually walked out of the cinema after about three quarters of an hour in deep disgust. A truly revolting film.

@Thunderbird2 I stand corrected. I saw their names associated with it on IMDB, but now see that IMDB specifies they were the TV series writers (duh). Wikipedia says Gerry Anderson was to be on-board as consultant, but was dropped; he hated the thing. Sylvia Anderson seemed to be okay with in public, but so what. It was indeed piffle.

Joe 90; I'd totally forgotten about that. A Captain Scarlet movie could be fun...
