Is this a segue vehicle? Bruce is getting too old for this, so is there a need for a next generation McClane to pick up the gauntlet? How y'gonna sustain the franchise otherwise? Still waiting to see if Mutt Williams-Jones takes off - I have my doubts in both cases.

All the oldsters are doing action still. Sly, Arnie, Willis. The Expendables was a vehicle for them all (and many more maybe not quite so old) at once. Die hard was ok up until 3, 4 was already a bit much. This one sounds rubbish.

DH1 , 2 and 3 were all great. DH3 was on the telly last night still a pleasure to see Jackson team up with Willis. Perhaps they should invite Jackson again for a follow up.

Agreed, the third installment is where it should have left well enough alone. I didn't go to see the 4th and I'm not spending money on this one either.

Good grief, all the IMDB reviews of this movie are bad... "The Rocky 5 of the Die Hard movies"...

If this review is accurate, then this movie truly sucks.

Maybe Die Hard 6 will be better.

Christy Lemire is not alone in her assessment. Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post agrees in a review titled "Bang! Boom! Thud. Yippie Kai-Yawn": http://www.washingtonpost.com/gog/movies/a-good-day-to-die-hard,1216613/critic-review.html#reviewNum1

I saw the previews but not the movie yet, so I can't comment. If a movie get really stinky reviews it usually is a sign the actor (especially famous ones) have fallen out of favor with the Hollywood "in" crowd or expressed opinions that are not currently PC.

Droll Quarry - either that, or the movie just sucks donkeyballs.

Funny you should point out the falling through glass part reporter. I saw the preview on tv here and I said that is total crap. Hey I know movies stretch reality but falling through that many floors and taking out a gunship? No way it would even come that close. One special forces team would kill die hard...hahaha. Thanks for the article I won't go watch it.

Critics are paid to complain. Movies are entertainment and nothing more. If you enjoy a movie, then good for you. Ignore the putz analists.

This movie was not entertaining and had huge plot holes. I'm glad I went to see it on a discount day and only wasted 1000円. It was insultingly bad.

I went to see this film last week, and the reviewer is absolutely right. It's an execrable film.

Willis looked bored to tears throughout, and the whole thing was an incessant sequence of 1.5-second rapid edits to convey excitement, with an agonising "I love you, boy" reconciliation of McClanes Sr and Jr hamfistedly jemmied in.

The plot manages to be both non-existent and bewildering, and the villain is to Hans Gruber what an awkward breakfast with the in-laws (with sick on your pyjamas) is to a good night out i New Orleans.

It truly is appalling. Sit in a park and cry instead. You will find it more enjoyable.

I have just seen it . Laughed a lot. Frankly, It looked out more like Red Heat or Red Dawn cinematographic fairy tale of Cold War times. Every Russian is a villain. Uranium smuggling from Chernobyl NPP. Heavy gunships in Moscow skies and luxury cars, filled by automated assault rifles inside. McClane Sr together with Holly thought their son was a "drug-addicted trash" but he turned to be a CIA agent in a perfect physical condition. A rather primitive plot and poor dialogues. What a truckload of nonsense !
