Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, several dozen exceptional bottles of wine will be among the offerings at TELL’s 21st Connoisseurs’ Auction at the Ark Hills Club on the evening of Friday, November 11.

The Connoisseurs’ Auction is the major annual fundraiser for TELL, which has provided mental health support and counseling services to Japan's international community for over 40 years, including a Lifeline, face-to-face and distance counseling, and outreach programs.

Among the rare offerings that will be included in the auction are a 2009 La Tâche Monopole Domaine Romanée-Conti, a 2007 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, La Romanée, a 2006 Château Mouton Rothschild, and a 2007 Château Latour. The anonymous donation also included bottles of Château Haut-Brion, Domaine Tonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne, Francois Feuillet Echezeaux Grand Cru, Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, Gaja Sori San Lorenzo, Gaja Sperss and Château d’Yquem. Wine lovers will appreciate the opportunity to get their hands on bottles that are either very rare or one- of-a-kind in Japan.

The Connoisseurs’ Auction, recognized as Tokyo’s premier charity event for wine connoisseurs, attracts 150 distinguished guests who bid on over 30 lots of premium wine, luxurious accommodation, and exceptional goods and services from a wide range of donors, in both a live auction and a silent auction. The event also features extensive tastings of fine wines from some of Tokyo’s top wine distributors.

“TELL's prices start at free, for the Lifeline, and we offer subsidized clinical counseling for those who cannot afford to pay the full fees,” said TELL board chair Dr Anne Bille. “Also. many of our outreach programs that reach schools and other organizations are either free or very inexpensive, thanks to companies and individuals that provide support for these programs.

“In Japan and throughout the world it has become more challenging for non-profits to raise funds, and TELL relies on community support for our continued operation. The Connoisseurs Auction is our most important annual fundraiser, and the donations we receive contribute significantly to our ongoing provision of critical mental health services to international residents of Japan.”
