This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Shine On! Kids, an organization that empowers children with cancer and their families through innovative programs using arts in medicine, animal therapy and skilled counseling.
“Cool Japan” best captures the organization's feelings for a bright future and is the theme for its 10th anniversary annual fundraising Gala on Oct 1 at Tokyo American Club.
What does “Cool Japan” mean to you? J-Pop, manga, anime, fashion, film, consumer electronics, architecture, J-cuisine? Or more broadly, unique cultural characteristics and dynamics coming together to drive creativity and progress in Japanese art, industry, and society?
It’s all of the above. But in particular for Shine On! Kids, “Cool Japan” is a place where kids are celebrated and empowered to flourish, contribute and participate in all aspects of society. Getting to this point, however, is going to require imagination, resources, and leadership. How can Shine On! Kids and other NPOs best collaborate with the business community, government and other NPOs as they support the communities they work and live in?
So, join in an exciting evening of celebrating COOL Kids. You can look forward to experiencing the best of Japan, food and drink, auctions, raffle, entertainment, dancing and fun.
