Outstanding in the Field has been hosting traveling dinner parties since 1999 at some of the most spectacular farms and beaches, gardens, mountaintops and ranches, where they set up their signature long table outdoors for 100 or so guests, often in the very fields where the produce on the menu was grown. A celebrated local chef takes over to create an illustrious feast full of fresh-from-the-farm ingredients. This event is all about fine cooking, new friendships and lively conversations, and love for food while soaking up the beautiful open-air atmosphere.
Outstanding in the Field Founder Jim Denevan and Director of Public Events Anna were brought to tears by the event at Fujisan Winery last September. Between the epic view of one of the world’s most iconic mountains, the heartfelt speech by winery owner Ernie Singer, and the incredible meal cooked by chefs John McCarthy and Ryan Tate in collaboration with Japanese local chef Hiroki Amano, this was one of our most memorable events to date. So we’re doing it again! Local wine and sake. Mushrooms foraged from the foothills of Mount Fuji. The freshest seafood we’ve ever tasted. Most of all, guests coming together from near and far to celebrate Japan and the magic of the mountain.
This event will be welcoming guests from Fujisan Winery’s private party “Outstanding in the Field in Fujisan Winery” joined by attendees from U.S.’s Outstanding in the Field.
When: Oct 4, 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Winery tour begins at 1 p.m., so please be on-site by then. Outdoor dining to follow, around 3 p.m.
