The 123-year-old Imperial Hotel in Tokyo will offer a number of lavish, thoughtfully created Christmas dinners this holiday season - with romantic, enticing choices at its Michelin-starred Les Saisons, its famed buffet restaurant Imperial Viking Sal, or at its convivial La Brasserie. For those who prefer to dine at home, the Imperial's sophisticated Gargantua deli is also preparing a range of roast turkey, gourmet Christmas cakes and other take-home Christmas delicacies.

The elegant Les Saisons will serve a tantalizing seven-course Christmas menu by the Imperial's acclaimed Thierry Voisin during lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Friday, Dec 21 through Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec 25, with whimsical and unforgettable, one of a kind dishes featuring French sole, Bresse chicken and abalone concoctions. 32,000 yen per person (includes tax; service charge additional).

Offered on the inviting Imperial Viking Sal's grand buffet Christmas dinners will be over 40 sumptuous dishes, from soups, salads and elegant appetizers to curries, escargots, foie gras and numerous entrees, cheeses and a huge selection of tempting desserts, fruit and ice creams, presented from Saturday, Dec 22 through Tuesday, Dec 25 from 5 p.m. (from 5:30 p.m. on Dec 25) to 9:30 p.m., at 14,700 yen per person (8,925 yen for children from 4 to 12). For children and adults alike, Sal will also be hosting Family Christmas suppers, with personal appearances by Santa Claus from Finland, from Dec 23 through 25, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., at 9,450 yen per person, or 7,350 yen for children from 4 to 12, and 4,200 yen for infants 3 and under. Rates include tax; service charge additional.

Traditional Christmas dinners at the Imperial's very popular La Brasserie, the nation's first brasserie and now in its 30th year, will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Saturday, Dec 15 through Christmas Day at 12,000 yen per person, tax included, service charge separate. The lavish seven-course menu will include a luscious crab dish as well as an entree of roast turkey with foie gras.

For patrons wishing something more Japanese, the lively Kamon teppanyaki open grill restaurant will present a full course dinner with fresh foie gras, lobster fricassee and an entree of your choice of succulent 120-gram Japanese sirloin of beef or an 80-gram Japanese filet steak, with miso soup, steamed rice, pickles and dessert with coffee or tea, served from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Friday, Dec 21 through Tuesday, Dec 25, at 26,000 yen per person, tax included, service charge separate.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for these special holiday season events and may be made by calling the hotel at 03-3504-1111, and asking for the restaurant of your choice.

Gargantua's turkeys (15,750 yen), Christmas cakes (5,250 yen) and other festive specialties for the holidays can be ordered in advance for later pick-up at 03-3539-8086.
