have your say
What do you think are the chances of the opposition parties unseating the ruling coalition of the Liberal Democratic Party and the New Komeito party in the upper house election this summer?

Unless they can come up with a viable leader, and a viable opposition, it's not going to happen.
But I really hope they can come up with a viable leader and opposition.

Enough of the self-limiting beliefs. There's plenty of of appetite to unseat the LDP.

It depends on the stock price. If Nikkei goes down to 8,000, Abe LDP will lose.
I think the negative interest rate policy by Bank of Japan will do the trick.

None.

None, so long as the system continues to give three votes to each rural voter, and only one vote to each urban voter, and the LDP keeps paying subsidies to the folks in the countryside. A system which was designed to give an equal voice to people in the towns and villages has been abused in a way that gives the majority no voice in the government. Funny how it works.

The key words in the above question are "New Komeito party." As long as Komeito and its zillions of brain-washed Soka Gakkai followers support Jiminto, there is no way Abe and his cronies will lose. Take away the Soka Gakkai vote ... and Abe & Co. will be in trouble.

Who knows? Abe is not popular. That much is evident. But the question is, are people fed up with him enough to vote for ANYONE else? I know that I am and would if I could.
