If genetic diseases can be handled through these treatments, and I think they will be, it will be a huge plus. Hopefully more money will be made available to deal with these problems.

Of course there will be tradeoffs. I think there's little doubt that designer babies will become a reality and will primarily benefit the wealthiest first. But then, same as it ever was.

Unfortunately I think there is more money to be made with ppl wanting to alter their genetic legacy so that their offspring do not inherit some 'unwanted' traits (baldness, red hair etc).

Actually think a substantial number of couples would be willing to pay decent $ for that.

My brother was diagnosed with red hair shortly after he was born.

I'm sure our parents would have paid a fortune to avoid the whole issue ; )
