In the population as a whole, the risk of a stroke within 30 days of surgery is reported to be 1/4 percent, and among migraine sufferers the risk is reported as less than 1/2 of a percent.

Interesting, to be sure, but that statistic does not sound like a reason to forego a needed surgery, where the risk of death without the surgery might be closer to 100%.
