So illegal drinking is bad then? I don't know about you, but I need to access my dopamine rewards tonight.

Another splendid waste of money, resources and bandwidth. Risk gene? Hokum! Teenage drinking is caused mainly by peer pressure and availability. And what irresponsible idiot would give alcohol to a mouse? Everyone knows they can't hold their liquor.

Please stop wasting money on explaining the obvious, Poindexters.

The conclusion is that people who get pleasure from the effects of alcohol tend to drink to excess more.

We have always known that, but the interesting thing is that the scientists have found the gene responsible for it. I wonder what the geographic distribution is of this gene. I have noted that countries with a heavy drinking culture tend to have cold winters - e.g. Ireland, Britain, Scandanavia, Eastern Europe, Russia, Korea, Japan, but it seems like there is more than the weather at play.
