Just depends on what "sugar" means.
The corn guys will fight it, since "high fructose corn syrup" is a product used in almost everything in the USA. Real sugar from cane is hardly used as a sweetener.
I believe (with zero facts) that the human body knows exactly what to do with sugar cane, but doesn't have a clue what to do with HFCS.
Just wish the FDA wasn't in the pockets of the synthetic food companies. Politics can overrule actual science in the USA, sadly.

Thanks to sugar, The entire country is overwhelmed filled with obese adults and children and whackos instantly triggered into road rage.
I was in a US supermarket the other day and looking at the luncheon meats. Every single package of ham, turkey, chicken, beef, baloney, contained sugar. Every piece of meat even has sugar in it! That's crazy.
