Noriko Sakai angry at estranged husband's behavior

Yuichi Takaso, the estranged husband of singer Noriko Sakai, seems to have disappeared with his parents. A source related to the ski shop owned by Takaso's father, told Shukan Post that “they won’t be returning for a while.”

The March 30 edition of weekly FLASH magazine published an article with photos showing Takaso receiving some white powder from a man speculated to be a drug dealer. Whether Takaso vanished to "clean up" or to evade the media is unknown. What has been confirmed, though, is the comment that came from his wife: “That idiot!”

Sakai’s private life had been gradually returning to normal – continuing her studies with good grades, eagerly participating in her son’s school events and enjoying lunch with friends. Clearly the news about her estranged husband was unwanted in view of her effort to rebuild her life.

In addition, the couple was supposed to meet soon and for the first time since their arrest, to discuss legal separation, with lawyers present. Apparently Sakai was hoping to complete the divorce paperwork then and there, but that plan has become a dead issue with the disappearance of Takaso.

The report on her husband has also reinforced the impression that drug users will continue to be users once the heat is off and the publicity dies down. According to a representative of a drug rehabilitation clinic, the recidivism rate of drug users is as high as 60%. Hence it comes as no surprise that Takaso might be still purchasing drugs, as speculated by the media.

An acquaintance of the estranged couple witnessed Sakai’s anger regarding the tabloid article. According to this source, Sakai said, “I am absolutely not using drugs anymore! I just can’t stand the thought that some people may think that I still am.”

Hopefully he can hit "rock bottom" soon so he can get the help he needs.

the recidivism rate of drug users is as high as 60%

-I take exception to the use of the word "recidivism" in a case like this. -And with proper drug counseling (Japan may not have it) and someone that wants to change his life you are maybe looking at a 90%+ success rate. =This situation is fixable as long as his "enablers" discourage his drug abuse (no money, shelter, etc)

that drug users will continue to be users once the heat is off and the publicity dies down. -he may try to stop, but he cannot = an irrational addiction. -That is why these people need help and a separation from their enablers (they must usually hit "rock bottom" first)

Nori-P must take the hard line on this and only allow this person into her life is he is willing to go into rehab immediately. -Otherwise she is just enabling the addict.

Isn't she a user too?

Maybe he is on a trip surfing or something. Was he spotted at any airports or clubs?

"...continuing her studies with good grades, eagerly participating in her son’s school events and enjoying lunch with friends...."

Ahhhhhhhhhh, ooooook.

So now she's a good person. Well.....she's also having lunch with friends.

Her husband is the evil one and all is well. He must be hunted down and killed on the spot for forcing the pure Sakai chan to take those abominable (omitted because it is a too terrible thing to be even nominated, kind of a Great Old One).

A classic.

got to love the media speculations and their only one-sentence that-idiot confirmation. What a circus

I like the quote: "The report on her husband has also reinforced the impression that..."

Reinforced the impression in who? Who has the impression? Is it the anonymous author of this piece? Or is it the reader.. "ah, yappari! Sou desu, ne! yappa..."

This article really needs pictures...

Takaso is clearly back on the pro-surfing circuit...probably competing under an alias....

Gee, why would anyone want to evade the people who write this sort of gossipy low-life nibby crap?

Just let me sing. I always like to sing in the kitchen where no one can hear. But let me sing for the two them this time."there are people who don't want to say where they are" baby sometimes love just ain't enough".

You could easily fit all of the "news" in this story under a microscope and still not be able to find its importance. How does one qualify for a job at Shukan Post anyway? Get fired by the National Enquirer for having journalistic standards too low?

I am against this negative reinforcement of drug abuse.

The message should be: We will do nothing (no money, shelter, media etc) to support Yuichi Takaso's drug use. However, we will do everything to support Yuichi Takaso in his effort to free himself from his addiction(s).

=Always reinforce the positive.

According to this source, Sakai said, “I am absolutely not using drugs anymore! I just can’t stand the thought that some people may think that I still am.” -it sounds like you are still battling an addiction with a statement like that. There are many people that battle all sorts of addictions (and will all their life) -so experienced help is out there if you look.

This article sounds like it comes from a tabloid writing about a tabloid. Corny, cheesy, full of drama. Oh, poor Nori can't get on with her pure and angelic life because her soon to be ex-husband is tarnishing her drug free image. Drugs bad and evil and you can never stop!

The Japanese way of thinking about drugs, that they are only “drugs” if they are illegal (omitting alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, and pharmaceuticals) and that all “drugs” are equally bad, is hilariously ignorant and childlike.

dolphingirl is spot on, but hey it's entertaining and we're all eager to know more.

“I am absolutely not using drugs anymore! I just can’t stand the thought that some people may think that I still am.”

“I'm completely clean. I don't do drugs anymore. I just can't believe there are some people believing I'm still having a monkey on my back.”

The Japanese public is spoon fed lies about drugs. If they don't believe it, they pretend to. Oh, alcohol and nicotine are not really drugs. lol.

I am absolutely not using drugs anymore! I just can’t stand the thought that some people may think that I still am.”

I think it's quite obvious that her denial is an indication that she is still using drugs on a regular basis...

Anyway,

“I am absolutely not using drugs anymore! I just can’t stand the thought that some people may think that I still am.”

Must agree with bamboohat.

This hag is still a societal threat... Maybe it's better for the yaks to off this family once and for all -- for good.

Umm didn't she say something similar initially (until proven to be lying)?

They're both tools. But that said, there's no guarantee that the photos published in FLASH were taken anytime recently. These publications have been known to withold photos for later use whenever there is a lull in real gossip.

Where ever he is, I hope he didn't go to China.

with little or no emphasis on education, harm reduction and rehabilitation, a problem like this will only continue to grow and grow in any society. what's worse is that the myths surrounding "the evil drug scourge" are perpetuated by narrow-minded people that are happy to be force-fed misinformation by media outlets that sensationalize stories like these.

I think it's great that sakai is making progress with getting her life back on track, with any luck she'll eventually serve to (help) educate the public about the reality and dangers of recreational drug use (in japan).
