Emperor, empress to meet abandoned Vietnamese families of Japanese soldiers

I meet the abandoned family of a Japanese salary man on almost a daily basis. The father of four has ignored his children, who are now grown with children of their own, since the divorce years ago. His loss - my gain..

Some 600 to 800 Japanese soldiers remained in Vietnam and trained Ho Chi Minh’s Viet Minh to fight the French forces after Japan surrendered to the allies in 1945.

This is really interesting. I had no idea.

A lot of IJA soldier remained to fight against the former western colonists that tried to return to their former colonies. Indonesia is the most famous with a cemetery dedicated to the former IJA soldiers that fought during the indonesian independence war against the Dutch.

Another glorifying IJ's wartime 'Deeds' has had a 'Just Cause'. Ho Chi Ming fought the U.S. imperialists in 1960s as well, most of the US. vietnam war veterans were retired or dying.......perfect timing to visit his masoleun.

Interestingly in 1946 the British Army in Java enlisted Japanese soldiers to act as police and internal security during the revolution against the Dutch.
