They need to re-examine their rules of engagements if and as their territorial waters are continually breached by the Chinese.

They need to play hard-ball, because China is justifying them to do so. The Japanese also know they can retreat behind the US navy if they can't hack their own responsibility and regional security.

Communist Chinese Government is like a greedy bully child. He wants everything which he doesn’t own or deserve but try to take over by force. Communist Chinese Government must understand about the Communist China was breaking the international law. ISIS is threatening to Middle East, EU and some parts of the world but Communist Chinese Government is threatening to Asia-Pacific and South East Asia regions' security, peace and stability than ISIS.

If I was a Japanese military planner. I would make sure every navy asset I had was on stand by for the joint Russian/Chinese exercises. Would seem like an ideal time for China to make a land grab on those islands and they might be so bold as to attempt it. Japan must be proactive and put their entire navy on standby along with the Seventh Fleet and every other ally with an asset in that region should be on stand by for attack. Do not be surprised if they try something.
