Unexploded WWII bomb removed from factory site in Hitachi

An unexploded one-ton World War II incendiary bomb was successfully defused and removed from a factory site in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, on Sunday.

Around 1,600 residents were evacuated their homes between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., while Self-Defense Force personnel worked on removing the device which was found on Dec 6 during construction work at a Hitachi plant, TBS reported.
