I hope they aren't like their disgruntled and frustrated brethren in America and trash the city.

I have literally been sick to my stomach ALL DAY ! What a mess our country is in. I just can't shake the feeling of "what might have been". This IS NOT sour grapes people. Just another opinion I know. The people who voted for this man have made our bed, and now we ALL have to lie in it. I admire these folks AND the half million or so who were in Washington today.

There were about 500 protesters in DC today. Not quite the thousands that were predicted. There is no sympathy for any of these violent protesters anywhere here. Do you understand? The left didn't make any friends with this. Just the opposite. The left and the media come out of it smelling like manure.

Sense Not Common said, "how dare they ignore the popular vote". News for you- the popular vote is irrelevant. Actually, I can't think of any G-7 countries offhand that DO use the popular vote to determine the leader. Winning the popular vote is not, and has never been, the goal of the election.

Here's a sports analogy for you, if you are a sports fan. Last year, the Denver Broncos won the Superbowl over the Carolina Panthers. Nobody disputes their victory. Yet, the Panthers gained more yards than Denver. They also had more first downs. But Denver won where it mattered- points. Nobody is saying the Panthers should be the champions. The "but she won the popular vote" meme needs to die.

Trump is president. He wouldn't have been my first choice, but I wish him luck.

The people are peacefully protesting, and that IS democracy. The 'democracy' Trump fans want -- a place where anything but praise is shot down or decried as "false news", and people jump on each others' throats to please the man at the top -- is much closer to a dictatorship than a small and harmless protest.

Anyone who hates America will be very happy with the choice of new president. It's like watching America press the self-destruct button.

I just don't see how a hypocritical, racist, misogynistic, silver-spoon-in-mouth, power-hungry orangutan living in a golden tower gives a damn about the ordinary poor guy. He and his daughter's businesses rely on manpower from outside the USA. What's he going to do - shift all the work back home and risk a cut in his family business' profits? But then again, it isn't my country and I really don't care what happens to the folks that voted for him.

Why people would take the time out to protest President Trump at Hibiya Koen is beyond me, but to each his or her own. Of all the infinitely more interesting and enriching things to do in Tokyo (shady or above board hahaha!) what they are doing would probably be the last thing to pop into my head. Protesting about an American election in a foreign capitol is kind of pointless, not to mention, strange. If they are really feeling so badly I recommend walking over under the Yamanote Sen tracks by Yurakucho ski, eating some yakitori, and imbibing in a few Grapefruit Sours or any other drink of choice to relieve their frustration.

For US citizens, one possible reason could be to emphasize to Japanese people that not all Americans follow Trump. Some could simply be ashamed.

True - the Left is literarily protesting the peaceful transfer of power. The Left no longer believes in free speech - that insist that they we obeyed and another opposing opinion frustrates them into violence. They are protesting the inauguration - and violently at that. A third of the Left in Congress didn't even bother to show up! That says a lot more about the protesters and the Dems in Congress than it does Trump. Imagine if Republicans boycotted Obama's inaugural? The screams of "racist" would be deafening. Make no mistake, the American Left is angry with democracy itself - it impedes their desire to control other peoples lives.

Well it's not worth trashing the capitol over during the handover of power. It's really embarrassing how so many American Leftists cannot handle adversity and have to continually protest while most on the Right just go to work and continue to pay their taxes. At some point they are going to ask why they should continue to contribute to a system dominated by whinny snowflakes.

Would you like to be associated with what you regard as the worst elements of your home country? Many Trump supporters on this site like to point out that they are not racists, are above making whooping noises at rallies, wouldn't mindlessly chant "lock her up" or don't regard Obama as the anti-Christ/a Muslim/born in Kenya. In other words, they don't want to be associated with the worst elements of Trump voters.

I don't think my idea is restricted to one political group. It seems quite natural for many.
