Recent world cup qualifying victories over Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and a tough away draw with Iraq show that they are quite the regional powerhouse - very hard to beat at home at any rate. So Japan were awesome in beating them last night in their own backyard. So, again, what's your problem?

Glad they won this time, and while I couldn't catch this game I will say good on Thailand for keeping them down to two goals (although it's just more likely as usual they couldn't score despite many chances). Still a little worried with the groups Japan faces next, though.

Thailand away has to be one of the best game to attend in Asia (for J and other apac supporters): cheap flights, cool country/city/supporters, cheap booze, plenty of 'things to do' before and after the game and a decent chance of winning.
