The far right is an exception. The rest are wearing ugly statements. Just like a curtain or table cloth turned into a mediocre dress or some kind.

A bit Star Trek-like!

"Fashion statement?"

Ah. It's sarcasm.

I see.

"Waiter! Could we get some more egg rolls over here?"

Abe's clothes don't seem to fit AND he looks a bit uncomfortable. I'd give the other three a passing grade.

It is so refreshing to see PM Abe dressed in clothing with a Chinese flavour, especially as it was China, used as the demon in his neo-nationalist rhetoric to deflect attention from the ills of his own nation and party, that won him the election.

Well at least they're standing next to each other. Easing tensions is better for both economies.

The Chinese outfits Mr. & Mrs Abe are wearing seem too big, and don't look good on them. Look like communists.

Apparently Xi Jinping got the memo to smile this time...

And I wonder if the wives got along well... Mrs. Abe always has more insightful things to say.

Xi looks much better in this traditional garb than he does in a western capitalist suit. Full marks! He should wear this stuff all the time.

Personally, I rather like Chinese garb ! At least (for the ladies) it's easier to walk than when wearing a Japanese kimono.

When APEC will be hosted by Japan, Abe and Xi have to wear Samurai outfit. During edo era, Japanese men wore high heel slipper. They have to be careful for not falling down. Ladies will have to wear traditional kimono. If Obama is wearing edo style outfit, he will be very good looking.

A picture is worth a thousand votes.

What on earth id Funzo wearing?

Good start. Great start. Shake a few hands, share a cup of tea and talk to each other. Who knows what will happen next. Maybe some sense of understanding of both sides feelings and concerns and find some rational way to address them instead of each side talking to a wall. This is good. China and Japan are too big to fail. Imagine if all these recent years, instead of all this animosity, you guys actually work close with each other. All of your lives would've been so much better and both nations outlooks would've improved dramatically. Hopefully something good comes out of this.

Gang of Four

They look like Nehru jackets or jackets worn by Catholic priests. But these so-called 'traditional' garbs are really modernized Chinese and are not the genuine traditional clothing as worn thousands of years ago.

Oh the lengths Japanese people go through to please other people. I seriously doubt Xi and his wife would even entertain the thought of wearing kimonos if this meeting was held in Japan.

My word, Abe's a brave man for going to Beijing. Good stuff. Well played China and Japan.

Looks fine to me. Nice picture.
