Make a wish

Pray tell, what is the difference between having someone else take their photo holding the ema and them taking it themselves?

Seems like they are, and thanks to the phone they will later too

I've always loved reading these tablets, sort of like a voyeur peeping into the lives of strangers.

For people who like ema's, I recommend you go to kitanotenmangu shrine in Kyoto if they have the chance. You will see the biggest amount of ema's you will ever see. Like a big trees of ema's.

Sure glad I do not have a phone.

A friend of mine has at least one Emma from every single prefecture. Nice collection.

    Enjoy the moment.

Good for the young couple on new years wishes. If Japan had more couples like them, the population decline would probably go away.

Good for them. Me personally I don' take many photos (selfie or otherwise) as never really look at them again.

The girl is gorgeous, but is it just me or does she look like she's about ready to start crying?

As the cell-phone similar in color to the votive wooden tablet, I thought the woman also had the wooden tablet. Best wishes for a happy new year!

Kind of look like they could be siblings. Wish them the best in 2017 !
