And Parkour is practiced to what end?

Looks cool, feels good to do. It's like real-life ninja stuff.

I'm sure there have been some noteworthy injuries for some practitioners of this "sport"

There have - some deaths even.

But sports come with injuries - it's the way of the world.

And Parkour is practiced to what end?

Sheer Joy

we need more of it here

I guarantee there will be a Parkour Certification test with levels and fees for testing and certificates. Japan loves certification!

I watched a couple of YouTube videos showing Parkour. At least these guys are in great shape. Is this a male only sport? I didn't see any females in any of the videos.

People can become paralyzed doing this kind of crazy stuff.

Just so they don't start jumping through my balcony (14th floor).

First delevlop as a training method for the French Foreign Legion. I reckon ditch the artistic Gymnasium event in the Olympics and replace it with Parkour.

@john san, didn't know about the foreign legion thought french city youths were the ones who started it in the 1990s then the movie 'Yamakasi' made parkour/free running/urban sports a worldwide phenomenon.

But sports come with injuries - it's the way of the world. Parkour has high levels of impact to the knees, do this for any period of time and theyll be shot by the time your 40.

It will be banned but only after few casualties.

So, develop something to support the knees while doing this, and patent it.

A sport that is hard on your body?! What will they think of next. Food that fills you up?

Goki wo maneku: "And Parkour is practiced to what end?"

Well, fun, for starters. I doubt the people do it because they have to and they hate it. Second, a lot of guys and gals that can do it well end up being stunt doubles in movies with a lot of running and stunts related to running.

As for me, my feet hurt just looking at this picture.

A sport that is hard on your body?! What will they think of next. Food that fills you up? no a sport that is very hard on the knees/ankles, Parkour has a lot of jumps from considerable heights, even more so than Basketball/Volleyball.

And Parkour is practiced to what end?

Sasuke, hah? A lot of the guys in the American version (American Ninja Warrior) claim to practice Parkour.

That is really a good news.

Would love to know how it will affect other businesses like Parkour shoes? https://parkourshoesguide.com/qna/
