It probably is a bad idea to make this picture available to the USA readers. It will be assumed that the cars are going to the USA without any import taxes even though Japanese cars are assembled in the USA. American brand cars that are imported into Japan have high taxes added to the cost. Right or wrong, for those who don't understand what is being said in the American election, this is a perfect example of why many people want protectionism.

It will be assumed that the cars are NOT goint to the USA because Japanese cars are assembled in the USA.

American brand cars that are imported into Japan have ZERO taxes, but US charges high taxes on Japanese cars.

Why do you assume that there off to the USA? what about England, or Europe? Russia? Oz?, NewZeland? China? Since the UK have had a referendum with leaving the EU the word exchange rate has plummeted for us, the Yen was 185 to the pound it is now 110, and the dollar was 1.6 now 1.1 to the pound which makes everything that we import into the UK is XX% more expensive, If these car were destined for the UK market, may be they have just become, say 30% more expensive, and thats why they have not been shipped. we have not had the full picture from this story, we have only assumed that X,Y, or Z is the reason why these cars are in this picture, it could be that the ship has been delayed at sea, or this car parking lot is like this normal, why is it news worthy? i could take a picture of the Toyota car park just up the road from me,and ask the say question, and Land rove, Jaguar have a storage yard only 30 miles away, and its full all of the time, so whats the news article trying to say?

Low interest rates have caused a huge bubble in the car industry. Ford is closing four factories. Also the quality is too high and people can keep their cars for 20 years if they want
