The Ramon Magsaysay awardees for this year pose following a news conference in Manila, Philippines, Saturday. The Ramon Magsaysay Awards, Asia's equivalent of the Nobel Prize, is given annually in honor of the the late Philippine President who died in a plane crash, and awarded to persons "who address issues of human development in Asia with courage and creativity, and in doing so, have made contributions that have transformed their societies for the better."
