Trendy? Eccentric, more like.

Across from JR Harajuku station and because of the slope in the background the #1 location for a photo op of Takeshita Dori.

Hey, no selfiestick! Kudos to your girls.

I'd love to ask them why they stick their two fingers up when they're having a photo taken. Answers like 'Because everyone else does it' are invalid.

All I can think of when I see Takeshita-dori is how long it takes to navigate that river of human bodies.

Obviouslym someone at JT has a sense of humor by today's placement of "picture of the day" next to "Japan says U.N. envoy retracts remarks on schoolgirl sex"

Victory pose? very meta.

Well, played Japan Today....Well played indeed.

Pukey2, what do you prefer they do? Posing with your hands by your sides makes you look like you dont want to be in the photo (typically done by old people in their retirement travels). Would you rather they throw up gang signs? Or a good old aussie thumbs up? Or a single finger like Tomodachi from 21st Century boys?

The peace sign is an un-obnoxious universal sign. That is why it caught on so quickly, and why it has lasted so long

How about just smiling.

That is why it caught on so quickly,

It never caught on outside East Asia.

Two country girls copping a bit of free time in Harajuku from their school trip to the big city, I wonder.

Well it is a nice photo they just took. Nice to see something positive going on in Japan.

Trendy? Eccentric, more like.

Not eccentric at all compared to the 90's look, of short skirts, loose socks & excessively flamboyant makeup.

I think the implication is that Harajuku is trendy, not the young ladies' attire...

Nothing more Happy than to see school kids smiling with their friends. . to be a kid again. except for the home work that is.
