The awards, now in their sixth year, are handed out to promote the quality of toys made in Japan. The Triple Color Change Rika-chan (photo below) won the best toy award in the Girls Category.

Um, you did notice that's she's intentionally dressed up as Rika-chan? (And triple color change Rika-chan at that.) She's literally supposed to look like a doll. Because she is promoting a literal doll.

Made in Japan? I didn't know any toys were still made in Japan. Maybe it's a la Apple. Designed in Japan and made in China.
