Why do people call burger joints "Restaurants"?

This is a restaurant where you are served by waiters.

Is it just me or does "umami" (馬ミ) sound like "horse meat"?

Ok, maybe it's just me!!

See, I'd wait a day or two before standing in a line just because the joint is new.

Lines blow.

Just the same as when Taco Bell opened in Shibuya. Maybe worth stopping by once in a while, but definitely not worth waiting in that queue...

Umami is one of the 5 basic taste groups. Bitter, sour, sweet, salty, and umami. Umami in English is actually a Japanese loan word, originally うま味 (its etomolgoy can actually be traced back to うまい "delicious").

My Japanese wife and I walked past a new shop opening today full of people lining up and taking pics and selfies. She turned to me and just said Why..i gave her a big wet one on the cheek and said Thank you, not all Japanese are herd like folks!

I'd like to know how all those people in the lineup wearing masks are going to eat a burger!
