You could ask these people WHY they oppose it and what exactly they oppose and they would not even be able to give you a proper explanation except "iyada!" They are so unhappy with their own lives they have to blame anyone and everyone else, and the easiest targets are actual victims, like the sex-slaves. If they can spit on them, they might just feel a little bit better about themselves and crawl out of the sewers for a moment.

To be fair to the guy in the picture, his position is probably largely based on what he was taught about the subject at school.

The problem is that Japan and its government has already apologized and compensated the victims for what it has been found guilty of doing over 30 years ago. Once again they have been forced to re-compensating and apologize due to some garbage psychotic left wing news papers false publication. These people have every right to be angry that their tax dollars are going to fund an apology of a 70 year old offense that has already been apologized for.

If they're sincere this time there will be no need for further apologies. Sincerity, though, is the key. If it were up to the people in the picture there will indeed be the need for further apologies. These guys need to imagine if it were their mothers or wives kidnapped, forced into prostitution, and raped, then told they were well-paid whores who should stop complaining, then told people are protesting the apology of the rapists' government because said apology hurts their dead ancestors feelings.

@HollisBrown To be fair, he is an adult who can research for himself the truth of the matter rather than blindly following what he's told. I was taught a lot of stuff in school that I don't agree with. Doesn't mean I'm obligated to support it. Japan is willfully ignorant on too many issues.

Note to Abe: Sending your wife to visit the Yasukuni Shrine still does not prevent your fellow hateful and blinded right-wing nuts from being angry at a conciliatory gesture their country made (let that sink in for a while and think about what type of people they are).

What people seem to miss is that the present generations of Japanese had exactly nothing to do with WWII, but the hatred of Japan by many Koreans and Chinese (and their governments) continues without abatement; and it is a fact that Koreans (and Chinese) are taught to hate Japan from the day they are born; it is the policy of their governments-you only have to read the Korean and Chinese media to see the torrents of hateful anti-Japan propaganda ever day. Pray explain why someone should have to constantly apologize, pay compensation and grovel for something they had no part of? I note that many Westerners, who should know better, also hate Japan with a passion.

I also note that South Koreans seem to have a totally different view of China, even though hundreds of thousands of Koreans were killed by Chinese troops during the Korean War. Why is there no animosity towards China in South Korea? Why no demands for apologies and compensation? Certainly it is a double standard, and I also see no reflection by South Korea on its own sorry history of dictatorial governments, including the one of Park Chung-hee, the father of Park Geun-hye, the current president. Instead Park Geun-hye has ordered a rewrite of Korean history books.

As long as Korea (and China) insist on living in the past, wallowing in their histories of defeats and humiliations, playing the eternal victims and refuse to move forward and live in the present nothing will ever change. It is also troubling that so many people with an extremely limited knowledge of history are so quick to judge and condemn. For instance, it is never mentioned that those so-called "comfort women" were recruited by Korean agents, and never a mention is made that President Park Geun-hye's father was an officer in the Japanese Imperial Army.

Both Germany and Japan committed extreme atrocity towards their neighbors during WWII. But they took very different paths towards reconciliation with the people and nations they hurt. Today, hardly anyone is miffed with Germany anymore. So ask yourself why.

BTW, it is a LIE that every Korean and Chinese were taught from birth to hate Japan.I, for one, was never taught to hate the Japanese by my parents or my schools. There was hardly anything on TV or newspaper about WWII when I grew up, let alone any specific mention of Japan. We were only told to not forget what happened to us. Why do you have to make things up like that?

The Park Geun Hye government has not been very transparent about the fact that the Park Chung Hee Government actually did receive reparations from Japan that addressed the comfort women and any all other claims for compensation.

What the Park Chung Hee Government did with that reparations money isn't being connected to the current state of affairs.

But as it is, the South Korea Supreme Court has again ruled that the Treaty between Korea and Japan has settled all issues regarding compensation so that surviving victims of the Japanese comfort stations cannot maintain lawsuits seeking damages now.

China didn't annex Korea, China didn't force the Korean men into manual labor, not only in China but in Japan and other places as well. Not to mention the sex-slave issues, and lastly did not install it's own government and treat the people like slaves for over 4 decades.
