Participants perform "Otonamaki," which translates as "adult wrapping," a new form of therapy where people are wrapped in large swaddling cloth to alleviate posture problems and stiffness, at a session in Asaka, Saitama Prefecture.

How are earth would sitting in that position and forcing their heads downwards do anything but strain the back muscles? More quackery.

If people think this works, good on them. Placebos also work. As long as these people "feel" better after sitting in the depressed-I-need-chocolate-I'll-just-cover-my-head-in-my-blanket posture, the more power to them. Or, they could do the same thing in the privacy of their own bedroom.

If you sell it, they will come.

Congrats to the bloke/guru/therapist who had this great business idea. Anything that involves a mat, closing your eyes etc always have potential.

Nothing "new" about this, Yoko Ono used to do it on stage with John Lennon.

"Yoko Ono used to do it on stage with John Lennon"

They weren't wrapped in cloth, they were inside a bag. Totally different!!

I wonder how much they pay to have somebody do this to them?

According to other new sources, this type of therapy also helps practitioners "relax by recreating the comfortable feel of a mother’s womb."

Wow! At first sight, I think a new religious organization has established.

...alleviate posture problems and stiffness, in that position? I would suggest.....uhm.....lying down in bed instead.

And being restrained while at it, if you do not see anything wrong here.

What if they suddenly got cramps and had to use the toilet
