Abe says G-7 need to boost demand, address supply constraints

This coming from a man who refuses to lift the price fixing and supply limiting of the rice and other other agricultural products in Japan. Does this goose ever think before he speaks or does he just spurt out anything that comes to mind?

Supply constraints?

Sounds like Abe is getting another "urge" to tell the world what to do. Better to keep the focus on the world and not himself.

you can't create demand if you don't have the wages to pay for it

factors that hamper productivity

all the useless sararimen that I work with, for example?

"Please buy more Japanese things so my Abenomics 'plan' doesn't look like a complete failure.", says "Dishonest" Abe

Abe needs to shut up. End of story. Hurry up and bring on the election.

Dammit, Janet, the planet needs GROWTH!

Oooh, Brad! I suddenly feel faint!

Government spends money to have people dig holes and then fill them again at the end of each fiscal year. This would seem to hamper productivity, but I suspect cutting such government waste is not in Aso's plan.

As has been pointed out, certain government regulations are one of the supply-side constraints, and Abe has done precious little to really "tackle the problem" in a "shikkari" way.

Yes. And people can't get good wages if they aren't enabled to produce anything of commensurate value. Preventing that production are those supply-side constraints, like useless regulations. These obstacles must be removed so workers can produce more value (rather than waste time dealing with bureaucracy), and then earn higher wages, and then finally they'll be able to buy more new fancy stuff as a result.

Exactly, I have no idea what Abe is talking a about either! All I know is that I am so unsure of what the next few years will bring. At present, I am diversifying my assets and am holding off on any new purchases

What a dunce.

Talk is cheap, walk the walk starting with your own country.

How to boost demand? The solution to that is something every store owner has understood since ancient times: lower prices. (For visual proof, just watch some Osakan obaasan fight over discounted goods at the department store.)

Now for the quiz: what is Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe most opposed to, and what is he trying frantically to brainwash the public into thinking is bad, and is destroying his people's currency in order to prevent?

take measures to boost global demand.....but I personally don't want to buy stuff I do not need. He wants to force us to buy stuff?

I think they should all listen to lectures from a guy who is devastating one of the worlds largest economies.
