Middle finger into the face of the PRC!

The US could start by saying they dont recognise Japans "nationalisation" of the Senkakus. This is a policy directly at odds with administrative control, which China was prepared to tolerate

I can't help but imagine this scene: Abe (desperate... in tears, overwhelmed): "Please, Biden-san, I'm begging you... tell me that you're here for me... that I'm not alone... don't leave me alone...." Biden (patting him on the shoulder with a slight smile on his face): don't worry my dear, I am here for you. I don't recognize China's ADIZ

Its like saying China does not recognise the US's ,Japans or Korea's AIDZ. Now they all have one. China has done nothing wrong.

Why is Rudd being quoted? He's in love with China and is a nobody in Australian politics at the moment.

A nobody in Australian politics??!! He is the former Prime Minister of the country pal, and knows a great deal about China - is quite well respected there.

Think before you press 'submit'.

Next Biden must also telephone the leadership in Beijing and tell them to buzz off. This will be bigger news than telling Abe that the U.S. is on Japan's side in this dispute.

@aussie-musashi ... The US could start by saying they dont recognise Japans "nationalisation" of the Senkakus. This is a policy directly at odds with administrative control, which China was prepared to tolerate ...

By August of 2012 mayor of Tokyo Ishihara had privately raised 18+ million dollars for the purchase of (some of) the islands (officially by the Tokyo Govt, although with private money) with the intention of building a weather station and a dock. This building would have represented a change of the status quo, which Japan's govt has long avoided. To avoid change in status quo, for years the Japanese government had been renting the islands and preventing any private developement or visitation of the islands.

Japanese PM Noda responded by offering the private owner 26+ million dollars for (some of) the islands. His bigger offer won; the islands had become safe from being used a platform for a provocative change of status quo. http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/asia-pacific/japan/120905/senkaku-islands-east-china-sea

Before the central government via Noda made it's bid, the Chinese media had been truthfully about Ishihara's efforts to purchase the islands. The Chinese media correctly represented him as troublemaker. But when Noda's government purchased (some of) the islands to squeeze Ishihara out, the Chinese media erased the part of the story concerning Ishihara, instead representing Noda's purchase as a spontaneous attempt to alter the status quo.

So in fact, representing Noda's purchase as a spontaneous attempt to alter the status quo is a lie. Behind the lie, is a motive. The motive is to pick a fight with Japan. It is a sad reflection of China's values that it decides to spend it new found power picking a fight with Japan. But unfortunately that is the way it is for now.

Kerry goes to Israel to kow-tow to Netanyahu. Now it is Biden's turn to kow-tow to Japan. A sure sign that America is now working for lesser states that have turned rogue.

@Mariam Tebourbi “" Biden (patting him on the shoulder with a slight smile on his face): don't worry my dear, I am here for you. I don't recognize China's ADIZ.”

I have said that your dramatized comments and imaginary dialogs between Abe and Biden are pretty funny. LOL

Seriously, I do believe that after the usual reassurance, Biden might also caution Abe not to give the US any more headaches in the territorial disputes with China. (Since Americans does not want to be drugged into any armed commitment at this time) Further, Biden could fill him in about the virtual reversal of original S.K position on submitting fighting plan over ADIZ, advising Japan to find face-saving way to do the same to avoid further isolation.

It doesn't matter how one can slice it or dice it, Abe was the one who is left without a chair when the music stopped in an intentional Musical chairs game. :)

Biden promises and says one thing to Japan the once in China he turns around and kisses the bottom side O China therefore lieing to Japan.

Biden can not be trusted for his lies to an ally can no longer be tolerated and a stong protest should be given to Ambassador Kennedy on how Biden lied to Japan a supposed trusted ally.

Why would the U.S. hand over a part of Okinawa prefecture which houses the largest US military presence in Asia to China? A better solution would be for China to admit they are trying to steal Japanese territory, rewrite the status quo established at the end of WWII, and pull their planes and ships back and start behaving like a peaceful civilized country.

How can you tell when Biden is lying?

When his lips move.

He just came from an in person visit to the PRC carrying pretty much that message exactly.

And that was just in case the commies missed the message sent when the US flew some B52s right through their little map two days after they announced it.

Those B52 can carry nuclear cruise missiles in case you people dobt know

Americans are well known for speaking with forked tongue. Japan belongs to the same viper pit. The way to get rid of snakes is to eat them. Both snakes are ready to be eaten.

Biden could recommend that Japan and China agree to accept ICJ arbitration. Oh wait, the US doesnt recognise the ICJ as having authority over America. Well, Japan could recommend it to China....... Oh wait, to do that Japan would have to acknowledge that a dispute exists. Oops. Sorry Abe, I dont buy your nationalist snivelling
