China it is absolutely you who would get burned and you would have brought it onto yourself.

"“If Japan wants to conduct any joint patrol or joint exercises in waters administered by China,"

The world does not recognize China's right of administration over the South China Sea. This is the first thing that this boneheaded country needs to get into it's head.

9 ( +15 / -6 )

Article states: “If Japan wants to conduct any joint patrol or joint exercises in waters administered by China, it is just like playing with fire, and the Chinese military will not sit and watch,” ministry spokesman Yang Yujun told a regular press briefing.

If military miscalculation or accident occurs by China, an economic war between China and Japan could have serious consequences in international trade and investments, as economies are integrally tied together. China has relied heavily on Japanese investment capital and technology and Japan is a key export market. Damages from a China-Japan trade war would spread beyond the two countries. Supply chains for everything rely on parts and materials making it back and forth easily between Japan and China.

China wake up!

Abe is an American echo so it's expected that he will sing an American song and dance to their tempo.

So instead of complaining you people should also stop being Washington's puppet and strengthen economic and military ties with North Korea .

Beijing should provide massive humanitarian food aid to the North Korean women and children and the elderly now facing starvation instead of cutting a vital lifeline for them.

Xi should not do to Pyong Yang what America did to Cuba.

A strong North Korea will also be a strong ally.

If the worst scenario becomes a reality then the battlefield will be more even where Kim's missiles will handle Shinzo's new Japanese armed forces.

Japan should tell the war mongering and unduly aggressive Chinese government to stuff it and go take a hike.

China may not worry about Japan, but if Drumpf becomes president, he already remarked that he has an itchy trigger-finger.

This is brinksmanship and bluster. There is nothing to fear. China doesn't want war, nor does anybody else. If there is a skirmish, it'll get quashed. War would be very bad for business, making the people of China, Japan and the USA poorer.

How could one expect China to obey a so-called ruling that was decided by five judges that were all selected and paid 30 million US$ by the PH and were choosen on the advise of a Japanese who said the 'Rape of Nanjing' never happened?

Imagine an NBA championship game between the Cavs and Warriors where all 3 of the refs and time keeper where all choosen and paid for by the Cavs!

This is precisely the reason why only Japan and the USA are so adamant in pushing Beijing to obey such a Kangaroo court while the rest of the world are cold shouldering it.

Washington and Tokyo's directions and intentions are now very exposed to the whole world.

Both are trying to make Palawan the new battlefields Baghdad and Saigon and Syria where the misery of the refugees , past and present 'Boat people' started with the USA as the common denominator and now Abe as an eager accessory !

Luckily not all ASEAN leaders were fooled this time unlike Blair who's now accepted guilt for bombing Iraq and Libya.

Who's Fire,Yang Yujun san? Could it be Chinas little flames all over the place? Suggestion : Extinguish all your little fires and the naughty Japanese and Americans don't have anything to play with. Easy enough?

How about you stick with arguments that actually happened, rather than just making stuff up?

The move followed remarks by Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada this month that Tokyo would increase its engagement in the South China Sea through joint training with the U.S. Navy, exercises with regional navies and capacity-building assistance to coastal nations.

Japan is doing the right thing diplomatically and militarily by engaging with these countries along with the US. It's smart because it further isolates China and it's activities and it shows the regional diplomatic nous China completely lacks and doesn't really understand. Japan is a regional powerhouse, and it's increased involvement in these matters is exactly what China doesn't want.

South Korea should join in too.

China think that anything they touch belongs to them.

The Philippines have already decided to have a dialogue with China and clearly stated that they don't want joint sea patrols in the disputed area.

Yet it is the USA and Echo Abe who are still insisting on doin such patrols when both are not party to such disputes in the South China Sea!

Even Ichabod knows Washington is intent on turning Palawan into another Iraq , Libya or Syria and Saigon!

The Philippine president even was warned that the CIA is destabilizing his new government with a possible assassination attempt on his life for refusing to play along.

Shinzo should learn from Tony Blair and refrain from allowing Japan to be used and manipulated like the UK by Uncle Sam !

@Gaihonjin: That's what people said just before the First World War. Economics isn't everything, despite what Marx said.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

A combination of multi-national patrols and mult-lateral negotiations including all concerned parties, and a statement that the US will interpret Cheinese naval engagement with any participating country as inimicable to its interests in the region should make the downside clear enough.

Don't worry, Philippine president hates the US and it's followers!

Yes, don't play with fire or you will wet your bed.

The Chinese defense ministry said the aim of the announcement was “to mess up the South China Sea situation and try to gain interests from the troubled waters.”

It seems to me that building artificial islands, harassing local fishermen and preventing them fishing in own waters, destroying coral reefs, depleting fish in someone else EEZ, and building military installations in disputed areas will do more damage than just sending a few ships for training.

China hypocrisy, like their demands, has no limits.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Indeed destroying coral reefs and bullying poor fishermen in their traditional fishing grounds is painting a very bad picture of China.

Xi should know this and start assisting the fishermen in times of typhoons instead of driving them away.

He should be reminded that the Philippino people have welcomed Chinese immigrants with open arms when China was weak and poor and are one of the most friendly, hospitable and non-racist folks in the region.

Cooperating and being generous towards the people of the Philippines will only launch a thousand likes for China.

In this regard PM Abe should prod China to help those sinking islands in the South Pacific and Atlantic Oceans build new islands!

China is terrified of its own people. The ones in power need to try keep the standard of living for the masses rising. They will try to grab anything they can get away with. They have already brainwashed the masses into thinking China has sovereign rights to the South China sea. When push comes to shove I wonder how far they are willing to go.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

China are playing with fire in south & east China sea. China must be punished !

3 ( +3 / -0 )

China you know that war with Japan means war with the US. A war that would end China and ruin so much for everyone. So stop the poker face, everyone knows you have no intention of starting a war. You are an empty bully. Shut up and get on with business instead of playing at imperialism. You suck at it.

Didn't you mean "smoking"?

If anyone is playing with fire, it's the paper dragon china, and they'll get burnt. Their GDP will turn negative in an instant. The world should pull all production out of china.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I as a Japanese would be proud if Japanese ships join with the US Navy on international waters of South China Sea.

It's international waters what's wrong about that?

China is trying to write her own "international law" or "reason" that are actually China Rule System. I hope South East Asia countries wouldn't buy it.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

yes china-gov, japan does not have the write to do freedom of navigation in international waters, but YOU CHINA-GOV yes have the right to continuously navigate into the senkakus, you sure do

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The Abe government may tell Xi Jin-ping and the Zhongnanhai war criminals that according to the PCA ruling of July 12, 2016 China should have ceased its trespassing and criminal activities in the Southeast Asia Sea. Japan simply played its moral obligations to the international laws and its dignity. Big state chauvinism isi not welcomed or tolerated. The world will condemn and stop China's criminal acts.

Frederic Bastiat SEP. 30, 2016 - 11:06PM JST The world should pull all production out of china.

Yep, totally agree - cut off the warmongers funding. Now if only we could all pull together and get the greedy corporate world to agree

All the anti China out in force, let WW3 begin, and we all go back to the stone age, that is for the better of little human.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

yeah, sure chubbuchub, let china rule the world so we can avoid ww3. you're a genius and should be advising all world leaders

The Philippines have already decided to have a dialogue with China and clearly stated that they don't want joint sea patrols in the disputed area.

Excuse me? This means the area that the Phillipines claims, NOT the area that other countries claim. You are blending together entirely different areas of the ocean (all of which have been stupidly and without justification claimed by bully China, I'll grant you that).

Are you a completely China-brainwashed idiot? Oh. Yes, you are.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Are you a completely USA-brainwashed idiot? Oh. Yes, you are.

If Japan wants to be a truly independent new nation wherein the future of the children will be brighter then Shinzo should first courageously strive to be independent from America!

Stop being an American Echo Abe!

Tell them Yanks to stop the Iraqinification and Syrianification of the South China Sea!

Shinzo should learn from the mistakes of Tony Blair who was hoodwinked by Dubya to bomb Libya .

Abe should not suffer the insurmountable guilt that Blair is suffering now .

The PM of Japan should have an independent policy in the SCS and act like a sovereign nation and demand Washington to remove all the bases in Okinawa!

Japan should act like a true country like the Philippines who ordered the closure of Clark and Subic and told the USA point blank that they reject any joint patrols with the USA in the South China Sea 120 miles from Palawan!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Shinzo should send the most powerful Yamato destroyers within 1 nautical mile of China's islands in the South China Sea and not the sissy outside 12 nautical miles conducted by another state which have dropped atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the past.

Those rocks called Senkakus and Tiau Yu Tai obviously belongs to the nascent Taiwan Republic by proximity and geography. The continental shelf of those islands touch base with the Daton/Tatong mountain ranges of Taiwan thus both share the same geographic features as well as flora and fauna.

There are many ancient graves from Ilan's fishermen scattered in the isles. Many were desecrated and destroyed by Japanese who built a lighthouse there in the past to hide the evidence but those in secret caves remain intact as we speak.

To those who wants Japan to be a virtual occupied colony of the victors belongs the following message:

Are you a completely American- brainwashed idiot? Oh. YES you are.
