Noda is being Obama's puppet to the bitter end. Perhaps if he had the same level of loyalty toward the Japanese people that he has for the American elite he would not be facing defeat in a few weeks.

Always worry when you start to here "security" being thrown around by this mob as it is usually a pretext for your rights to be altered, and not for the better either...

I'm pretty sure the biggest security issue on Noda's mind is his job security.

On the positive side, Noda warned Obama face-to-face about the difficulities with China and its claim of disputed islands and land, which, as we know, lie around Vietnam, the Philippines and, of course, Japan. It's a problem that is going to keep on festering ... possibly getting out of control. What will the next Japanese prime minister do ... quit as soon as the heat gets too hot ... ??

Surprising that they are sitting down at this timing. Must have been plenned prior to Noda's dissolution declaration. Must be an awkward situation for Obama/Clinton.

OMG, what a dangerous environment!

China wants to steal the Senkakus from us.

Russia won't give us back those islands in the North.

And South Korea has grabbed Takeshima.

What can we do?

Shall we all be murdered in our beds?

Will China steal Okinawa from us?

Will we be forced to have Korean names and eat Kimchi for breakfast?

Fear not, good people.

The mighty forces of the US are here to protect us!

Whew!

(Sarcasm)

You will be glad the US is around some day soon.

Hope so with Noda, but I am not so sure with Abe, Hashimoto/Ishiara scenario.

Japan will pay a bitter price for allowing itself to be controlled by the US one day. Some already have paid.

What does that even mean? I know, you're just still kind of giddy that Obama is still around. You'll get over it soon enough.

If Japanese politicians don't behave callously toward China and South Korea, then maybe Japan won't be in peril and won't need the US to defend them.

Personally I think the Senkaku Islands are a legacy of Japanese imperialism and do not rightfully belong to Japan. Maybe they don't rightfully belong to China either, but if one side is going to stake its claim and be so stubborn about it then the other side is bound to get annoyed.

There is hardy any hope of ending the Senkaku/Daioyu dispute. Its not a mere issue of labeling the islands as either countries' map or tapping the resources underlying in the area. In both countries, there is a deep political, culture and historical reasons that are making this issue muddy. Many years of oppression and humiliation endured by the Chinese during early part of the 20th century, and warped historical education of schools on Japan coupled with an nationalistic culture of both nations, resulted in tensions in both nation. These tensions will not be resolved by an external party, especially through violence. If U.S. steps in, it might have an reciprocal effect instead. It is obvious that China is very uncomfortable with U.S. presence in the pacific. This resulted in an increased need for China to fight for more sea lanes. The island spats only started when there is an increased in U.S. presence in the Asia-Pacific.

More and more comedians seem to enter japanese politics....

"Noda on Tuesday warned of an increasingly severe security environment in Asia"

Now, whose fault was that?

So basically, Obama and his goons are for hired to do what they do best: supply armament throught the whole world for a mere price of freedom, that is awesome! Please Japan, get the US bases out of your country.

Alliance? You wish. The proper term is 'protected by Uncle Sam'.
