The father of a 13-year-old Aomori girl who committed suicide on Aug 25 by jumping in front of a train. Her family released a note left by the girl in which she stated she didn't feel like she could live anymore because of being bullied at school, and thanking her family for the last 13 years. quote of the day
I want the students who bullied her to think deeply about what a terrible thing they've done.

I hope her family is comforted. Sadly, the only "deep thinking" those kids will do is something like..."Gee, I hope I don't get into any trouble for this"

I can only hope she named them, in the note.

Heartbreaking.........
Just imagine how much better all of Japan would be if it could get rid of 70-80% of this ijime nastiness that is so ingrained in Japanese.............all ages would GREATLY benefit!

...and the other students in the class who knew it was going on but didn't do enough.
...Also the teachers who again didn't do enough to protect her, or punish the bullies. (They just separated them in class. Out of class - what was done?)
...Plus the head teacher at the school who clearly didn't do enough to make sure his/her teachers were on the ball regarding the issue of bullying, nor that his/her school was an environment in which all students could attend in comfort and feel safe.
...Finally the Ministry of Education, and/or the local Board of Education, which clearly isn't doing enough to ensure schools and all their teachers understand the issue of bullying, how to spot the signs, and most importantly how to deal with incidents appropriately.
