The number of tourists is increasing even without integrated resorts (IRs). We have no intention now to abruptly change the situation.

Is there evidence for casinos worsening security? I have never heard of it. Though that never stopped opposition in Japan before. If he means from people getting into debt or getting addicted to gambling, well, there are plenty of ways to do that already in Japan. And plenty of regular people who are. I think probably Yamaguchi can't see any way he or his party will benefit, probably being out of the kickback loop, so he is opposed because, as we have seen, his party has no principles that cannot be compromised.

So is somebody trying to suggest that 'integrated resorts' have something to do with casinos?

Casinos make winners out of only one group of people: the casino owners. Everyone else loses in the long run.
