I note that his height and weight are close to yokozuna Hakuho's. In past Olympics, Egyptian athletes have fared well at Judo and Graeco-Roman wrestling, so there should be no particular cultural barriers. If his presence contributes to sumo's international appeal, so much the better.

I'm just wondering how he will keep his blood sugar level stable enough to perform well in July. It may be interesting.

I love his sumo name! =) Grand Sandstorm!

“He has not got strong all by himself but with the help of many other people. I hope he will never forget this,” he said.

Could he be more full of himself? It's one thing to remind someone that they've had help, but this makes it about the other people, rather than the fact that someone has made a terrific accomplishment. He just sounds jealous that Osunaarashi is getting the attention.

Congratulations on the promotion. It's always great to hear about cultural participation :)
