Hope JJ is right but perso I don't see super rugby has THE solution for J rugby, at least not with the current format i.e only 1 team. Imo you need to create more depth to be competitive at international level. (Same story for Pumas, the NT hasn't improved since joining SR. Early days though).

Having one team in SR has also affected Top League's crowds (reckon attendances were down this year). My preferred solution would have been to go solo, strengthen the Top League and make it an even better, more attractive product. (the only reason sanzar 'invited' J to join SR is $: they needed jpy, more exposure in Asia etc). Again, hope am wrong and both the Sunwolves and NT have a great season.

getting the most country with the most players and the most money winning isn't magic, it's not hiring idiots. Eddie is a very good coach but he is like an opened beer, goes flat pretty quickly after the initial fizzy spurt. He has been fired a number of times as well.
