Congratulations to Leicester City FC and their fans! I hope they close out the season with wins!

Well done Leicester. You've given us all a little spark of hope.

Havent read anything from arsene Wenger yet!? must be hard for him to see king Ranieri being crowned after 1 year at a club like Leicester!

I think what makes this special is that it was over 10 months, no good or bad draw, weak or strong conference or lucky bounce at the 90th min. The title rewards hard work and talent, thats why i would rate it above the buster douglas win over tyson or Greek win at euro 2004.

The greatest sports story of all time !

My last hope for this season is West Ham sneaking into the top 4. I can't see it but this has been a strange one and it would be fitting.

Come on you Irons!

Im an Arsenal fan and Wenger is an embarrassment for not congratulating Leicester. Sour grapes. A poor show of sportsmanship for a huge underachiever.

Agree tiger, i think he's become bitter. I genuinely feel for him as he has done a lot for the club and it must hurt big time to see Ranieri get what was essentially his dream for many years, i.e win the league with a 'proper" team rather than names and egos.

I know the Brits will get all in a tizzy for me saying this but could there be a more anti-climactic way to win a championship? backing into the championship as you sit at home watching your closest competitor play to a thrilling 2-2 draw. Thank god this could never happen in North American sports where we have no draws and people figured out years ago that if you pay good money to watch a sports event you ought to see a winner and loser decided at the very least. greatest sports story of all time? hardly

@Stickman You are right on one point - it was a thrilling 2-2 draw. Some cracking goals, a bad-tempered local derby, nerves and spite and some great football played.

How difficult is this to understand? It's a league system and the team with the most points wins. You don't 'back' into a championship. We also have cup competitions which are knockout competitions - they have the kind of system you seem to like.

You seem to have a very common North American sulk that football is the most popular sport in the world and this league is probably the most popular of all. Like it or not, this is how it is. I suppose it's difficult to rank the greatest sport stories of all time, but it's one that many people around the world pay attention to. The same can't be said for the sports you enjoy. You should ask yourself why this is.

It would be nice but having a close season end is part of the thrill. Far better than having a runaway winner.

Having said that, even though I don't support them, it's good to see a club like Leicester finally use its talent for its own ends rather than supply other teams and win the whole thing.

The greatest sport in the world produces the greatest sports story. Well done to Leicester.

I think it's hysterical that the author doesn't know the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF SNOOKER are going on in the same city at the same time, players from all over the world

What a sad, sour grapes post. Anti-climax? This is the greatest team sports story for years. You see, a season championship in the UK is all about the best team over that season. Its not a cup knockout competition. I think you really dont understand that the premier league title is won by the best team over 38 games.

Let me teach you because you clearly do not understand the rules of association football. You can draw a game. Yes thats right. Each team gets 1 point each for a draw. You can also win (3 points) and lose (0 points).

THANK GOD IN THE UK AND EUROPE AND SOUTH AMERICA THE FAVOURITE SPORT (FOOTBALL) IN THOSE COUNTRIES HAS A CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY THE BEST TEAM OVER THAT SEASON AND NOT WON IN A PLAYOFF JUST FOR TV MONEY.

Backing into a championship? What does that mean anyway? To truly appreciate a championship season you need to truly appreciate the art of going to an away game and fighting for a draw against a big money team in their own yard. Until you understand that you truly know nothing about a season championship.

Not just Brits. I'm not in a tizzy, but I'm American and I'm embarrassed at your ignorance.

A bit of perspective: Odds for Japan beating South Africa in the Rugby World Cup were about 150 : 1. Leicester to win the PL was 5000 : 1
