How about from fifth place on? No mention of the Japanese ladies. I'm curious how they did after the initial skate.

Great to see this Russian skater win the gold ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶c̶h̶e̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶j̶u̶d̶g̶e̶s̶ .

Most likely sunk without a trace. I'm starting to think of Asada as the Rafael Nadal of figure skating.

Pukey2: "I'm starting to think of Asada as the Rafael Nadal of figure skating."

That would be a compliment (to her). She should have stayed "retired". Anyway, I checked; they got 5th, 7th, and 8th (Mao getting 7th).

Congratulations to 16-year-old Mevdeva for winning the title and beating Kim Yuna's FS record in the process. That was a flawless, precisely choreographed and executed free skate. Looking forward to her future performances.

Good job as well to our Japanese ladies who, though they didn't medal, put in their best in the competition. Wish them the best in future competitions.

If you actually paid any real attention to figure skating (like watching it on TV) you would know that Miyahara placed 5th, and Mao Asada placed 7th, thus ensuring that three Japanese women would be allowed to compete at next year's worlds (just like the Russian and American women).

This competition is being called the "bogus in Boston" now. A lot of people thought Miyahara got robbed http://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2016/04/05/figure-skating/bogus-boston-robs-miyahara-medal/
