Come on Darvish! You hold on till the end of the season. You can do it!

Still very early in the season, but a WHIP of over 2?! Only saw highlights of the game today, great defense play at home plate, BTW, but his pitches have movement but into the strike zone. Major league hitters are gonna keep on hitting him if he does that. Next start will be against Detroit, that will surely be a true test of his skills.

Detroit was off to a hot start, but ran into some trouble today and yesterday in Chicago. They'll bounce back, though! Go Tigers! It will be interesting to see Darvish pitch to Cabrera and Fielder.

Irabu comparisions in 5 games. i hope he does well but going from AAA level ball into the bigs is a big step.

He has a crap translator which makes him sound a bit arrogant. This is bad PR. When you don't have the crowd behind you, you won't make it. He could be another Irabu.

Mariners and now the Twins; two last place teams he's pitched against and his performance has been less than stellar, in fact, its downright disappointing. What adjustments does he have to make? Its baseball, not rocket science. The fact is he is not facing "real" ballplayers and not salarymen in uniforms....

Again, kinda like typical Dice-K: getting into trouble often, hits-walks-wild pitch-hit batter, finding a way to limit the damage, but ending up with a high pitch-count resulting in an early exit around ~5 innings.

Next he gets to pitch against the good slugging teams. That'll be interesting.

Welcome to the Major Leagues. Its not called the Major Leagues for nothing.

I'm so excitede by the way you play I got goose bumps watching the highlight, and delighted to see you get off to a good start. You can adapt to the new environment and live up to the hype, no doubt.

Arguably, one of the most terrific players I've ever seen. I root for you even though I don't know much about ML. Is it a whole new ball game like we've heard so many times?

Looking forward to the next game.

He is 25 years old, stepping into a championship team, division, league. He is wading into a big block of Jello.... He will find his legs. Go Baby Darb! Go Rangers!

Feliz, 2. Colby, 3. Holland, 4. Harrison, 5. Baby Darb. Go Rangers!

"What adjustments does he have to make? Its baseball, not rocket science."

Let's see the differences ,

The size of the ball is slightly different. Different strike zone, it's wider on the outside in the majors The mound is harder and higher in the US Long flights between games that he didn't have to go through in Japan

And of course these are some things i can think of off the top of my head besides the usual language barriar, getting to used to different culture, incredible amount of pressure etc.

@HS: Oh Boo Hoo; Japanase have excuses for everything. I'm old enough to remember when they lowered the mound in MLB because it was such an advantage to pitchers. How about the pitch count -- virtually non-existent in Japan -- Darvish is practically a relief pitcher in US according to his pitch count...

@The_Pope

Why does anyone need an excuse for Darvish ? He had one win and no decision so far, not great, not bad. What about pitch count ? I have no idea what you are talking about.

@The_Pope

By the way, I see that every single post you made about darvish is negative, LOL. Do you have something against him ? When he does well, I'm sure you will come up with excuses because, well, you are American.

Keep praying that he will do badly all year long, if you have nothing better to do

I hope all of you who posted negative things will post again on the story about his third start tonight and how he won, and held the big bats of the Tigers silent!!!!!

He looked good indeed!
